EUPLOIA

Revealing the Origin of Parthenope opens at the 'Sul Mondo' Gallery in Naples, running until December 24. Curated by Maria D’Ambrosio and Carla Langella for the Materia Viva project, the show highlights a cultural and urban regeneration initiative focused on the historic Monte Echia area, believed to be the foundation site of ancient Parthenope. Featuring site-specific works by artists and designers, the exhibition explores themes of memory, identity, and Greek origins through jewelry, installations, and design pieces inspired by archaeological findings. It also includes urban walks and interactive displays that invite public engagement with Naples’ oldest quarter, promoting awareness and support for its restoration.

Fragments

Jewellery collection made with tuff fragments from demolition waste that emphasise the value of tuff as a precious witness to the city’s memory and as a non-renewable material. The scope of the jewellery ensures an increase in the economic value of the material by makingthe recycling process economically sustainable.

Light tuff

A luminescent installation made of bioresin, tuff stone from demolition and phosphorescent paint. The intention is to illuminate the historical relevance of the Cappella Vecchia site by using tuff as a testimony to the history of Naples and, at the same time, to stimulate rethinking it as a material of intangible value.

Green growing

Nature that repairs. Inspired by the Japanese Kintsugi technique of completing the fracture, the project proposes the use of plant matter as a resource to complete and repair broken objects. Life extension is one of the most effective strategies for ecological sustainability.
